Realignment of backs to take a pass from depth

Hi, I'm looking for a quick game where I can get my players to realign quickly to take a pass running from depth. Any ideas? Thanks, Clemmo

You could develop a usual game from the attached drill.

Add more players once they have got used to how to apply - then you can alter the size of the area to suit what you are trying to achieve.

I hope this helps you

Description:

4 Cones and 1 Ball inside a 10m x 10m Grid.

Number the players.

The coach shouts out a number and that player is the defender, who has to run to the end line. The other two players are attackers, who run to the opposite end to collect a ball before having a 2 v 1 with the defender.

Coaching Points:

Player with the ball draws the defender towards them before passing.

Encourage players to try various different techniques.

Hi there, get the support player to only move once the player in front of him has possesion of the ball, you can do this whether your backline is flat or deep. Then run drills with this "policy" in mind and you will see that the players will adjust and also have to start making decision which is another great skill to have.
